Rural Reflections

We're home! The boys and I arrived home this evening! We had a great time. While checking my dozens of e-mails I came across this wonderful photo from Stephen Weber at Daily Encouragement. Check out his site! The link is on the right hand side of Pilgrim Scribblings.

The photo from Lancaster County, PA reminds me of the area of Ontario where we were this afternoon. We were in Elmira, Ontario in the Mennonite area. The country roads are lined with well-kept Mennonite farms. We stopped to visit a friend, Craig Schwindt, who owns and operates the Floradale Feed Mill in Elmira.

These rural reflections are so relaxing! I love the slower pace of the Amish and Mennonite people. Maybe when I'm in my 90's I'll slow down...if the Lord doesn't come back or take me home first.
It's good to be home!

  3. That slower pace is so relaxing! And I do believe it allows us to "hear" better what the good Lord is trying to say to us. In our busyness we tend to not hear/listen well enough sometimes.

    Glad you came home relaxed!

  4. Welcome home! I'm glad that you enjoyed your time. It must be nice in Amish country. I have friends in a Christian farming community in the US and it is so relaxing when we visit there.
