What an incredible time I've been having! It's been everything I hoped for and more. The only discouragement has been my attempts to get online. I've finally succeeded here at the Marriott Hotel in Bristol.
I'll give a brief summary of what's been happening:
Friday morning I caught the train from London to Bedford and then took a bus to Olney, the small town where John Newton (the composer of Amazing Grace) preached and William Cowper wrote his powerful hymns (There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood). What an experience to visit the museum there and see the Summer House (only about 6 feet by 6 feet) behind Cowper's home where he would retreat to write his hymns. I also visited the church where Newton pastored and took some photos there.
I'll try to post some of them here. More later!

What a tiny home David!
ReplyDeleteJust to think of all the inspired hymns that were written inside!
I think this would have been more thrilling for you than a visit to the Palace itself.
"There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood" is my favorite hymn....from Terry
