"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." (Proverbs 17:22) I had to quote that verse from Proverbs to justify posting this funny story.
An elderly transplant to Peterborough, Ontario* called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car has been broken into. She is hysterical as she explains her situation to the dispatcher: "They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator!" she cried.
The dispatcher says, "Stay calm, Ma'am, an officer is on the way."
A few minutes later, the officer radios in.
"Disregard", he says, "she got in the back seat by mistake."
* - The average age in Peterborough is around 89 years old. We have more seniors' residences than any other city in North America. Well...almost.
That is SO funny David!! And what a cute picture of the little darling!! Just my type of person. I love elderly people to death!!
Welland, in the last couple of years has been building senior homes and apartments, but I guess you are right. Peterborough DOES have a lot.
Bernie was from Smith Falls and whenever we visited his folks there[foster parents],we noticed how many senior homes that THAT city had. Almost every few blocks!
