Being a lover of old hymns and Southern Gospel music, there aren't too many Contemporary Christian artists that really "turn me on". One group whose ministry (in music and otherwise) is so refreshing is Casting Crowns. Their newest release, LIFESONG, was released on August 3th and I picked up the CD as soon as it was available.
Surprisingly enough, I haven't listened to it yet but I read the lyrics and the liner notes and was impressed. As I read the words to the song, Praise You In This Storm, I thought of a dear and precious blogging buddy who has been praising God in the midst of her stormy situation. Becky has journalled her "storm" on her excellent blog. Check out her "posts".
I dedicate this offering from Casting Crowns to Becky and pray that she will continue to be sustained daily by the "Wonderful Grace of Jesus". - David
PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM...
I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again I say "Amen"
And it's still raining.
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
"I'm with you",
And as Your mercy falls I raise my hands
And praise the God who gives and takes away.
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am.
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never leave my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm.
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry, You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You.
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth.

David, I'm so touched. And what an amazing song...I feel as if they must have been reading my blog when they wrote it. Your faithfulness as a friend and your constant prayers and encouragement will always be remembered during this time David. You and some other wonderful people here in blogworld. Oh, if we could only all meet this side of heaven. What a time we would share together! Much love, Becky
