Overflowing
Last night I had the pleasure of hearing the Word of God expounded by a godly man who lives what he preaches. Peter Kerr was speaking on the word "precious" and the different uses of the word in scripture. As he spoke his words were laced with scripture. He was not trying to impress the audience! He was speaking from his heart and the Word of God was pouring out. Lately I've been battling sleep apnia and often find myself fighting to say awake during church services or any gathering when I need to pay attention. None of that last night! I was waiting on every word.
O that all of us would realize the value of hiding God's Word in our hearts so that we will be full and overflowing with the life-giving, sin-cleansing, God-breathed, innerant, inspired, infallible Word of God that lives and abides forever.
One of the first Bible verses I remember learning as a young boy was Psalm 119:160. "Thy Word is true from the beginning and every one of Thy righteous judgments endureth forever." (KJV)

"O that all of us would realize the value..." We all know the value and can say the reasons why we should spend more time in the word - but if we would only REALIZE the value of it. Man I get mad at myself for not doing what I know I should... this is not to dwell on what is done - "there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" Rom.8:1, but it has to become impetus to change, "My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you..." Prov.2:1 thank you for reminding us again David.
